I trekked out to Mississauga recently with some other shoe lovers to view the Town Shoes Spring/Summer 2014 collection in collaboration with Trend Marketing. The beautiful old house, Trend’s take on ‘the home office’ was transformed into a Mecca for shoe lovers. Faced with shelves full of shoes, really, any type of shoe one could want, it was any shoe aficionado’s dream.

Lucky Brand sandal offerings incorporate metals, die cut leather and fun animal motifs

Town Shoes stocks a variety of  brands in their stores including Sam Edelman, BCBG, Vince Camuto, Fergalicious and Lucky Brand. Next Spring you will start to see great colours, patterns, texture and inspired embellishments. How high can those heels go? Sky high, check. Chunky high, check. Wedges, check. Two, three inches for the not so adventurous? Check. There is virtually a heel for everyone. As a flat shoe wearer by nature, what I loved and very much look forward to, are the variations and options available for gals like myself  too. Vince Camuto offers a range of flats in soft colours, different cuts, various prints and textures.Town Shoes Spring summer shoe trends 2014

Perhaps one of the biggest surprises for me, was how far the Jessica Simpson brand has come. Sure, you can still find those super high stilettos and that down home, down South look, but what’s exciting is the newer direction she has steered toward since becoming a mother. The Jessica brand is much more sophisticated and practical for the cosmopolitan set. There is a certain delicacy that you’ll find in the brand next Spring.

Another big trend you’ll be seeing is the studded embellishments–they will be everywhere, on heels, flats, boots and they’re for guys and the gals. A variety of textures and finishing techniques will be hitting the streets, from die cut goodies to strategically placed cut outs. Look for subtle, buttery soft leathers as well, as opposed to the hard, need-to-break-in leather shoes that can be so hard on the feet until they’re worn in.

Below you’ll find some of my favourite offerings from Town Shoes for the Spring/Summer season. Leave a comment or send me a tweet telling me what you’re most looking forward to for the Spring/Summer 2014 shoe trend.
