8th Annual Santa Cruise presented by Mariposa Cruises

Families are invited to join Santa and his elves for the 8th Annual Santa Cruise presented by Mariposa Cruises aboard the Northern Spirit (docked at the foot of York Street).  Children are encouraged to bring their wish lists to share with Santa and have their picture taken with him by a professional photographer.

This enchanting one-hour cruise sells out quickly. Purchase tickets for $14. +HST/person in advance and $17. +HST/person at the dock (children under 6 are admitted FREE). Santa’s merry elves will direct families to the Santa Cruise, hand out holiday treats and help make sure each family has their photo taken with Santa. Get in the holiday spirit and decorate a complimentary ship-shaped felt Christmas ornament to take home.  Local charity, Artbarn School, is partnering to provide supervised crafts suitable for all ages. Artbarn School has been delivering quality art experiences to adults and children in Toronto since 2005. Find out if your kitty or pooch has been naughty or nice as Santa pays a memorable visit to PawsWay (245 Queens Quay West).  Capture that special moment between Santa and your pet and help support a guide dog.  Photos cost $10 +HST ($2 from each photo is donated to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides).

A perfect addition to Winterfest on Toronto’s Waterfront, PawsWay presents FREE Dog Sledding Demos with Tanya Hawley at 12pm and 2pm. This is your chance to meet and have your picture taken with a real dog sledding team! Each 30 minute demo will showcase the kick sled, harnesses, lines, leashes and items used in dog sledding and visitors will be able to have a quick ‘pat and chat’ with Tanya and her authentic sled dogs!

Visit York Quay Centre and see the Woofjocks Canine All Stars presented by PawsWay in action.  One of the most popular canine sports groups, the Woofjocks are a high-energy dog and handler performance team specializing in interactive games and demonstrations of canine agility and obedience.  After each show, they do a ‘pat and chat’ where visitors come out onto the floor and meet the dogs and have photos taken.  FREE!

Families are invited to enjoy everyone’s favourite winter pastime at Harbourfront Centre’s Natrel® Rink (235 Queens Quay West). Tucked away behind York Quay Centre and set against the beautiful shores of Lake Ontario, the city’s most scenic rink awaits. No skates? Harbourfront Centre rents them and helmets too. The Natrel Rink is set to open November 16 (weather permitting)
