Come to Toronto for your best. new year’s eve. ever.

Whether you live in and around Toronto, or you’ll be there for a short (if brisk) vacation, there really is no friendlier place to ring in New Year’s Eve 2017.

No matter what type of event you’re looking for to welcome 2018, you’ll find it in the Six. Raucous parties, outdoor concerts, family fun, and even a little off-the-grid shenanigans, Toronto has all you revelers covered.

Looking for laughs

Yes, it’s been a trying year politically, so we understand if you want to start the new year with some laughter. If it’s classic laughs you’re after, consider the New Year’s Eve Comedy Extravaganza! at Massey Hall. For a comedic battle, head over to Your Hood’s a Joke, or enjoy an all-new sketch review at the cabaret-style NYE at Second City. The first two shows wrap around ten, leaving you a couple hours to spare before saying goodbye to the year that was.

Whatever floats your boat

There’s something magical about being out on the lake, and Toronto night cruises around the harbor and islands are a beautiful sight to behold. Make it a night to remember aboard the Jubilee Queen enjoying a full New Year’s Eve experience complete with party favors, dinner and dancing. Mariposa has you covered aboard your choice of either a cocktail or dinner cruise with the city’s gorgeous waterfront as a backdrop. The brightly lit Christmas lights that dot the shore adds a glow of festive feeling to an already iconic skyline.

Chasing waterfalls

Great for the whole family, enjoy Canada’s largest free concert across the lake over in Niagara. With performances by Marianas Trench and Simple Plan among others, Queen Victoria Park also hosts a number of food vendors and licensed liquor areas. Witness the grandeur of fireworks at the gorge with two shows at 9pm and another at midnight. If you’d prefer to stay warm, several Niagara hotels and venues will host a variety of events throughout the city, many with waterfall views.
