Question: Are shorts appropriate for work?

Answer: You should first consider your environment before pulling the shoot on pants. For those in an ultra conservative office, shorts are sadly a no-go, even if it is blazing hot (at least you will have the icy cold air conditioning to cool you down). If you are in a laid back office, shorts that hit just above the knee are acceptable. I would suggest staying away from denim though, it usually says beach more than client meeting.
