On July 30th, Toronto’s own punk artist ThxSoMch in collaboration with artist Jack Carden will host an exclusive “Unhinged” single release show, album listening and live performance at Jessgo Gallery in Toronto.
ThxSoMch fans are eagerly awaiting the debut album The Sound Of You Laughing (prod. grayskies – Wisp, d4vd) which arrives August 29th via Atlantic Records. This fall, he’ll head across North America for his rowdiest tour yet. Mike Crossey (The 1975, Arctic Monkeys) the album is as much self-expression as it is escapism, where he finds both solace and catharsis for himself and fans alike.
Recorded over seven months in Brazil, isolated from everything and everyone he knows alongside producer grayskies, ThxSoMch poured himself into a body of work that fully captures everything he is today–it’s vulnerable, raw and made with true intention and a clear purpose. The fully-charged project, mixed by legendary producer and engineer Mike Crossey sees the multi-faceted songwriter, producer and performer find his own sound that disrupts both rock and rap as he delivers a fast-paced, exhilarating and honest examination of the self and life’s impermanence.
A creative project that merges a music video shoot with a live album release event, both staged in the same art gallery. On July 29, visual artist Jack Carden—known for his chaotic, expressive doodle style—will transform the blank gallery by painting walls, floors, and even attendees, with handheld cameras documenting the entire process for the official ThxSoMch music video. The art gallery space will be taken over by the artists and ThxSoMch will be performing the new album in full–the day the latest single “Unhinged” arrives.
ThxSoMch burst onto the scene in 2022 with viral hit “SPIT IN MY FACE!” which has garnered 672M+ streams on Spotify and charted on the Billboard Hot 100.
