Critically-lauded soul singer, poet, and arts educator Jamila Woods is performing at Velvet Underground on May 29.
It’s in support of her just released LP LEGACY! LEGACY! (via Jagjagwuar/Closed Sessions). Each track is named after a poet, artist, musician and draws inspiration from a specific instance or piece of work in their career. The LP features production from frequent collaborator Oddcouple along with Peter Cottontale, and up and coming Chicago producer Slot-A with features from Saba, Nico Segal, theMIND, Jasminfire, and Nitty Scott.
