Celebrated songwriter, performer and award-winning artist Dean Brody released his new single, ‘Black Sheep’, on August 21 in advance of his forthcoming fall tour alongside acclaimed act and friend, Dallas Smith. The new track is the third single from his highly-successful synonymous EP, Black Sheep, which was released digitally in April. The physical EP was made available August 30.

Brody is a 2-time Juno Award winning artist, 17-time CCMA Award winner, and celebrated songwriter, with three previous CCMA Award wins for songwriter of the year, and 24 Top 10 hits at country radio, the most recent of which was “Whiskey in a Teacup”.

This fall will bring Brody together with another iconic country artist making his mark on the genre, Dallas Smith, for the first-ever, larger-than-life, Friends Don’t Let Friends Tour Alone Tour, kicking off in Sault Ste. Marie on Sept 18, before heading across the country. Shortly thereafter, the two unique artists known for their multiple #1 smash hits will take to the Budweiser Stage in Toronto for an epic co-headlined evening, which will mark Brody’s third year in a row headlining the large-scale venue.

@theSceneInTO: What can fans expect this time around at your performance? Last year there were a lot of surprise guests.

@deanbrody: It’s a different show this time around. Dallas and I really are friends so we’re going to guest in each other’s songs and really the whole vibe will be like a small-town bar with us all interacting with each other and each other’s bands throughout the show.

@theSceneInTO: What inspired the team up with Twisted Tea and the concept to shoot your video for Dose of Country this way?

@deanbrody: We wanted to include my fans in the experience. It was super cool to see the locals participating in a process that most never get to see and partnering with Twisted Tea helped us bring that idea to life. Performing in someone’s backyard in a small town with a bunch of local country folk was something I’ll never forget

@theSceneInTO: Is there ever a time for a break or are you already working on more songs?

@deanbrody: There are too many ideas running around in my brain. I’ll need a lot more years to get them all out so no, I’m happiest creating. It’s where I love to be. No breaks!

@theSceneInTO: You mentioned wanting to perform at the George Street festival. Has that happen yet?

@deanbrody: It hasn’t, though I still dream of it! Alan Doyle will drag me out one night when I’m actually in town for a weekend and we’ll light it up proper Newfoundland style!

Familiar friends will share the stage with Brody and Smith throughout the anticipated event, with special guests Chad Brownlee and MacKenzie Porter joining the award-winning pair on the national tour.
