Rush fans, this is your moment. This August, Toronto will transform into prog-rock paradise as RUSHfest Canada lands for a once-in-a-generation celebration of one of Canada’s greatest musical exports.
Running Friday, August 1 at Massey Hall and Saturday, August 2 at TD Music Hall, this two-day event marks 10 years to the day since Rush played their final concert in Los Angeles in 2015. But this isn’t just a fan gathering—it’s a heartfelt tribute to the band’s legacy and its legendary drummer and lyricist, Neil Peart, with all profits benefiting Brain Cancer Research at Sunnybrook Hospital in his honour.
Curated by RUSHfest Scotland founder Steve Brown and Canadian superfan/music journalist Paul Beaulieu, the festival blends deep fan love with historic venues and heavyweight guests. Massey Hall, where Rush recorded their first live album All the World’s a Stage, sets the scene for Friday night’s lineup, featuring producer Terry Brown, art director Hugh Syme, violinist Jonathan Dinklage, singer-songwriter Jacob Moon, and the UK’s own Moving Pictures—plus a roster of world-class performers and special guests.
Saturday shifts the party to TD Music Hall, with a full-album performance of All the World’s a Stage by 2112 (Burlington), fan favourites Permanent Waves, and the RUSHfest Canada Allstars Band, ensuring the weekend goes out with a power chord.
“We asked ourselves what the most excellent thing we could do would be,” says Brown. “It was simple: bring Rush fans together, celebrate their music where it all started, and raise money in Neil’s memory.”
