Arturo Anhalt has been running his Milagro restaurant business in Toronto since 2006, but his enthusiasm and the pride he takes in his food remains as fresh as if it were a new baby.

A native of Mexico city, Anhalt has cultivated a strong menu that transports you to his hometown with each spicy, flavourful bite. Said menu features items like the Pulpo Bar Tijuana, a ceviche made of octopus, tomatillo, chipotle, red onion and cilantro; Enselada César, an extremely tasty caesar salad, made with lime, parmesan, anchovy and garlic vinaigrette. Of course, you can’t have a Mexican restaurant without tacos, but Milagro ups the ante with fillings such as battered snapper, pork confit and rib eye. You can also order burritos, enchiladas (including vegan), sandwiches, mole and fresh guacamole.

Beware, some of the items on the menu are extremely spicy (trust me, I know and enjoy spice), but, Milagro also offers a rather extensive drink menu with almost 20 different tequilas, a long list of reposados, wines, mezcales, añejos and margaritas.

Everything about Milagro feels authentic, the food is tasty and the drinks are plentiful.

Bear in mind that what you see on the menu is what you get—the chefs will not alter your meal or make substitutions as they believe it changes the authenticity, quality and taste of the dish. Overall, the food at Milagro is very tasty and rustic, the spirit is jovial and it’s definitely worth a visit—good times guaranteed.
