Hennessy Cognac celebrates 250 years of making sumptuously smooth eaux-de-vie
Last month, Hennessy blended past, present and future to celebrate its 250th anniversary with the Hennessy Time Barrel and the Hennessy 250 Collector Blend Cognac. The interactive time capsule’s #messagetothefuture, allowed guests to live by Hennessy’s trademark slogan “Crafting the Future” as people left individual video messages for a new generation.

If you didn’t get a chance to visit the time capsule while it was in Toronto, you can still leave your message through the Hennessy Time Barrel online portal. Your message will appear on a specially created digital map, with messages from fellow Hennessy enthusiasts around the globe. Each message will be preserved in the Time Barrel in Hennessy’s historic cellars in Cognac, where it will remain sealed until the unveil, 50 years from now.
Of the 250 Collector Blend, which was carefully and secretly crafted over the past four years, Fillioux had this to say: “The Maison celebrates 250 years of savoir-faire and excellence by creating a unique anniversary blend.”
These eaux-de-vie were aged in 250 handmade, especially commissioned barrels of Limousin oak, containing 250 litres each. Prior to that, they were aged in barrels for at least ten years under optimum conditions: temperate and oceanic, the epitome of controlled balance, of subtlety and elegance.
theSceneinTO was introduced to the new cognac and helped celebrate the Canadian launch of the Hennessy Time Barrel with a cocktail reception followed by a Gala dinner at Bloor Street’s La Société.
