Louder Than A Bomb

LOVE (Leave Out Violence), a youth violence prevention organization, will debut the globally recognized Youth Poetry Slam Festival, ‘Louder Than A Bomb’ (LTAB) in Toronto for the first time. This highly anticipated festival will take place at The Royal on Saturday, June 3 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m and will result in a Slam Team winner.
Helping to empower the youth of Toronto, brave and inspirational speakers will reveal personal and relatable stories of their life experiences, portrayed through spoken word poetry. This creative movement has been propelled to encourage the expression of young people. It provides a platform for them to comfortably share their stories and inspire them to invest in their communities, making the world a safer place one slam at a time.
On June 3, the finalists will take the stage before the audience and the judges will determine the winning Slam Team for Louder Than A Bomb Toronto. The top four teams that made it to finals were narrowed down and carefully selected from 16 schools across the city. Joining the contestants on the stage will be 2010 Canadian Beatbox Champion KRNFX with a live performance. KRNFX is widely recognized for his appearance in the first season of Canada’s Got Talent in 2012.
Special guests, Organik, founder of the world premier rap battle league King of the Dot (KOTD) and Bishop, co-host and rap battle legend of KOTD, will be judges at the event. Accompanying the two judges will be Che Kothari, acclaimed events and portrait photographer, having shot hip-hop artists like Erykah Badu, Nas, Common and Ice Cube. Kothari is a co-founder ofManifesto, a non-profit organization with a mission to unite, inspire and empower diverse groups of young people through art and culture.
