This March, join highly influential industrial designer, graphic designer and architect, Ron Arad, in the DX Library. Arad’s experimentation with the possibilities of materials such as steel, aluminium or polyamide and his radical re-conception of the form and structure of furniture, have put him at the forefront of contemporary design.
The Tel-Aviv-born visionary is renowned for his collaborative creations for international brands, including including Kartell, Vitra, Moroso, Alessi, Cappellini, Cassina, WMF and Magis, amongst others. Along with a number of public art pieces, his architectural feats include: Y’s (Yohji Yamamoto) flagship store in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo, Japan (2003); Hotel Duomo in Rimini, Italy (2006); Maserati Headquarters Showroom in Italy (2003); the Selfridges Technology Hall in London (2001). Arad and his work have been celebrated in the world’s most influential cultural institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art, Pompidou Centre, de Pury & Luxembourg, Galerie der Moderne, Munich and more, as well as published in close to a dozen books.

Iconic Italian furniture manufacturer, avant-garde contemporary designer and talent headhunter (responsible for the discovery of both Marcel Wanders and Japser Morrison), Giulio Cappellini, has set the standard for modern design. You can find many of his classic collection pieces in museums around the world. In town to judge the esteemed AZ Awards presented by AZURE Magazine, he will be taking the stage on the DX’s historic trading floor to discuss his work with up-and-coming designers, how he has influenced them, and helped them evolve into today’s most celebrate furniture designers. $15 / Free for DX Members.
