Last night, Casa Loma transformed into a haven for rock enthusiasts as the Twilight Symphony’s Rock Symphony series kicked off. The evening began with guests traversing the historic 800-foot tunnel beneath Austin Terrace, leading to the Carriage Room—a space aglow with candlelight and dynamic light projections.

The Casa Loma Symphony Orchestra, under the masterful direction of Maestro Paolo Busato, delivered a performance that was both electrifying and emotive. Busato’s dual role as conductor and lead pianist was a testament to his exceptional talent, seamlessly guiding the orchestra through a repertoire of classic rock anthems.

Vocalists Cleopatra Williams and Justin Di Donato captivated the audience with their powerhouse performances. Williams, known for sharing stages with icons like Sting and Michael Bublé, showcased her dynamic range, while Di Donato’s rendition of “Silence” was particularly gripping, leaving the audience in awe.

The orchestra’s renditions of hits from legends such as Queen, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin were met with enthusiastic applause. The evening culminated in a show-stopping performance of “Purple Rain,” featuring Williams, Di Donato, and backup vocalist Christina Dare. The trio’s harmonious blend brought the audience to their feet, dancing and singing along—a fitting finale to an unforgettable night.

The Twilight Symphony at the Castle series continues with performances scheduled until March 1, 2025. For those seeking a unique musical experience in one of Toronto’s most iconic settings, this is an event not to be missed.
