Theatre Passe Muraille’s #BeyondTO Festival returns for its third edition from April 24 to May 17, 2025, spotlighting two compelling productions from outside Toronto that delve into themes of identity, resilience, and cultural heritage.

Cispersonnages: en quête d’auteurice
Opening the festival is Cispersonnages: en quête d’auteurice from Montreal, a darkly comic and satirical exploration of identity, ethics, and artistic freedom. Inspired by Luigi Pirandello’s Six Characters in Search of an Author, this production challenges traditional narratives and invites audiences to reflect on the complexities of self and authorship.

A Taste of Hong Kong
Closing the festival is A Taste of Hong Kong from Vancouver, an immersive theatrical experience that combines storytelling with a tasting class featuring iconic Hong Kong snacks like curry fishballs and siu mai. This production offers a sensory journey through the city’s rich cultural history, from its colonial past to present-day resilience.

Accessibility and Community Engagement
All performances in the #BeyondTO Festival are presented in a relaxed environment, with dimmed houselights and introductions to the actors to create an inclusive atmosphere. Theatre Passe Muraille is also piloting an Accessible Transportation Fund to assist patrons who may require support getting to and from the venue.
