The all Argentinian cast of Arrabal heats up Panasonic Theatre this February

Coming to the Panasonic Theatre stage next week is a visually striking and auditory masterpiece. Arrabal is a coming of age story, told solely though dance—specifically tango and made even more explosive through the thumping beats of Gustavo Santaolalla (Academy Award winner, Brokeback Mountain, Babel) and his band Bajofondo.

In its world premiere, we follow the titular Arrabal as she finds her way through the underground world of Buenos Aires’ milonga clubs, navigating between danger and intrigue and coming to learn what became of her father years before.

Arrabal is based on the political violence that threatened to destroy Argentina in the 1970’s and one of the things that makes this show unique is its authenticity. With a band and dancers hailing from Buenos Aires, these are people who have all been affected by their country’s past and bring that story to the stage, intimately sharing their history with the audience.

Be a part of the action of Arrabal with cabaret style seating and tango lessons before each performance.

Another thing that makes Arrabal an experience not to miss are the free tango lessons that patrons can partake in 45 minutes prior to each show and taught by the cast. All highly acclaimed Argentinian dancers and instructors, don’t miss your chance to learn from some of the world’s best.

Arrabal also features intimate cabaret seating right on stage and in the first row of the theatre, making this a truly immersive experience. Pre-ordered drinks get delivered to you, right on stage (as if you were truly at a milonga) and you literally become part of the show.
