On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, Amici Camping Charity’s Breakfast of Champions celebrated Amici’s great supporters at the BMO Conference & Event Centre as part of the official kick-off to the Canoe Heads for Kids 2019 season.

CBC Sports Host Scott Russell hosted the inspiring morning, which featured a keynote address from outdoor enthusiast Mark Hubner, who braved the elements of winter to cycle 1,000 km around Lake Ontario to raise money for underprivileged children to go to summer camp. Mark and his team raised over $30,000 to support Amici campers! Mark also showed a mini-documentary about the expedition called Lake Effect.

The day would not have been complete without a special word from Amici camper, Max, whose life was forever changed thanks to Amici’s incredible community of supporters.

Amici’s Canoe Heads for Kids 2019 will take place on Saturday, June 1 across Toronto’s waterfront. Over 160 camp and outdoor enthusiasts will paddle and portage 15 km to raise over $200,000 to send kids from low-income families to summer camp.
