Black and White with a Touch of Pink
May 7, 2017 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Pink Pearl Foundation is celebrating its 11th annual fundraising event, Black and White with a Touch of Pink, on Friday, April 7, 2017, at 8:00 p.m., in support of young women battling cancer. The Foundation cordially invites the public to attend this one-of-a-kind event at The Great Hall in downtown Toronto.
Pink Pearl Foundation provides support, facilitates connections and empowers young women who are courageously working through the social and emotional challenges of cancer. Black and White with a Touch of Pink is an evening designed to create a network of support, raise funds and spread awareness about the innovative programs and retreats delivered by the Foundation.
CTV News Toronto Health Reporter, Pauline Chan, will host the evening, with live musical entertainment by The Doubts and DJ Pierre Bois spinning vinyl. Guests will enjoy an open bar; food stations by local downtown restaurants; an opportunity to bid on silent auction items; win incredible prizes; and take home a complimentary Live-Clean gift bag. In addition, the Foundation will award its annual post-secondary scholarship to this year’s recipient.
Tickets are now on sale and will be sold in advance of the event date while quantities last. Purchase early-bird tickets by March 17, 2017 for a chance to win an overnight stay for six guests in picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Please visit: http://bit.ly/blackandwhite17
What is Pink Pearl Foundation?
Originating in the Niagara Region, Pink Pearl Foundation has successfully raised more than $250,000 to date, providing effective programming for women, between the ages of 18 and 40, battling cancer of any type. Continual programming for participants currently includes: day-long and overnight wellness retreats; in-hospital support packages; local social gatherings; family support days; and post-secondary scholarships. Since its inception, Pink Pearl Foundation has touched the lives of over 500 young women with cancer.
In 2016, Pink Pearl Foundation reached new heights in terms of expanding its network of peer supporters to the Greater Toronto Area, raising funds and spreading awareness about its innovative programs offered. This year, the Foundation will continue to expand its reach and implement Toronto-based support and programming with continued partners, including: Princess Margaret Cancer Centre; Trillium Health Partners Credit Valley Hospital; Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto; and Humber River Hospital.
Pink Pearl Foundation was conceived by 32-year-old ovarian cancer survivor Elise Gasbarrino. While undergoing cancer treatment in her early twenties, Elise felt certain elements were missing from her experience—a way to connect with women her age facing the same issues, and a means for them to conquer their issues together. Her vision transformed into Pink Pearl Foundation, a not-for-profit organization made up of more than 25 dedicated volunteers, focused on bringing together young women affected by cancer through a network of peer support and innovative programs.
Pink Pearl Foundation appreciates the continued support it receives from its partners and the community!
