The Ashkenaz Festival is North America’s premier celebration of global Jewish music and culture. The 11th biennial Festival will feature 80+ acts and 250+ artists from over a dozen countries. The Festival’s adventurous multidisciplinary programming celebrates Jewish creativity in all its forms, while highlighting the intersection of Jewish art and artists with multicultural artists and traditions. From contemporary and cutting edge offerings to more traditional presentations, the Ashkenaz Festival includes something for everyone. Most events are free. Highlights this year include headline concerts by Lemon Bucket Orkestra,nThe Klezmatics, Abraham Inc and appearances by notable food personalities Liz Alpern, Zane Caplansky, Michael Wex and Michael Twitty. Another key highlight of the festival is this years Canadian-premier Yiddish-language theatre production of “Death of a Salesmen” starring acclaimed Yiddish actor Avi Hoffman.
