We missed Saeed’s performance on Saturday given the rain cancellation but were able to get his thoughts on touring, festivals and what lies ahead.
TheSceneInTO: You’ve toured a lot and given the chance, what’s the one thing you wished someone had told you while starting out? Any life lessons from the road?
Saeed: TheSceneInTO: I can probably write a book about that question. Hahaha, but the one thing I wish was that someone had told me when I first started out was that. Once you make it, people will start judging who you are, how you play and what you produce, but you just need to ignore the negativity (if there is some) and stay on the track you believe it the right one for you.
TheSceneInTO: What’s the one festival you’ve always wanted to perform at?
Saeed: I’ve played many amazing festivals, including The BPM Festival, Ultra Miami, EDC and more, but I’d love to play Time Warp.
TheSceneInTO: Any artist you’ve wanted to collaborate with?
Saeed: It would be amazing to do a B2B set with either Nic Fanciulli, Carl Cox or Loco Dice at any given festival.
TheSceneInTO: Who’s on your current playlist? Anyone in particular you’re keeping your eye on?
Saeed: Electronic Youth is making some some crazy noise right now. They just signed a killer E.P to my label, Younan Music. I’m also digging the stuff CJ Jeff is producing.
TheSceneInTO: What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you while touring or performing?
Saeed: Watching two partner-promoters argue and get into a fist fight over money. At the end of a night, it wasn’t a pretty site after a successful event.
TheSceneInTO: What’s next on your to-do list? Any collaborations, new albums, tour dates?
Saeed: I just signed two tracks to Carl Cox label, Intec Digital which should be coming out later this year. I also have another EP collaboration with a new artist from Italy named Francesco Scialla, which is coming out on my label Younan Music. Tour wise, I’m now back in the states with shows in NYC, Washington D.C, West Palm Beach, New Orleans, and back to Las Vegas to play with Carl Cox at his residency and Light.
