Canadian Music Week (CMW) is upon us and talent can spotted all throughout the city. This not only means great photo opportunities, but great concerts, including CHUM Fanfest at Koolhaus and the E-One showcase. Despite the continuous freeze spell Toronto seems to be under, we definitely know how to heat up our nights. We end the month with 2 days of furious partying at TD Echo Beach with Six-time Grammy-winner Skrillex. Read on, party on.

On Thursday May 8th E-One Entertainment presents a private showcase featuring Secret Broadcast, Gloryhound and Dearly Beloved. It’s their Rock The Night tribute to CMW.

Canada’s Chloe Charles Returns to Toronto to Celebrate SiriusXM ‘Indies’ Nomination and a CMW Showcase with a performance at The Drake on May 10th. Since releasing Break the Balance in hometown Toronto last year, she’s enjoyed advance sell-outs across Europe. Here last year for NxNE, OFF! will be in town touring their newest, Wasted Years at Lee’s Palace on May 10thfor CMW. OFF! features Keith Morris, who co-founded seminal outfits Black Flag and Circle Jerks during the late 70s and early 80s in California. The Descendants also hail from the same early West Coast underground scene and provide their brand of snotty adolescent tunes as a nightcap for the evening of punk rock. Get your tickets here.

Vienna-based multi-talented vocalist/producer/instrumentalist SOHN will be bringing the haunting orchestration and striking emotions from his recent 4AD-released debut LP Tremors to a live audience at Horseshoe Tavern on May 14th. He produced Banks’ “Waiting Game” and is going into the studio with Lorde & Miguel this month. The show promises to be a great live performance. Get your tickets here.

Hailing from Washington D.C., Deleted Scenes will be at The Drake on May 16th performing songs off their album Lithium Burn. Fans and critics have praised them for their live show; they’ve been doing it since 2005. As seasoned veterans they have been flying under the radar, a quintessential touring band. Skrillex is Dubstep. He brings his unique style and intense energy to Toronto for his Mothership Tour.

John Grant, who rarely tours in North America, will be back in Toronto on May 17th for a show with Elbow at the Danforth Music Hall. It’s been a massive breakout year for John, nominated for a Brit Award for Best International Solo artist. Not only is he receiving critical acclaim, but has a devoted fan base in the US and abroad.  He’s publicly struggled with homophobia, addiction, and HIV, which is what much of the record tackles in his signature sarcastic-yet-humorous way. Six-time Grammy-winner Skrillex announces his Mothership Tour 2014 that will have him headlining some of the biggest stages this summer including TD Echo Beach on May 30th and 31st. Joining Skrillex on tour will be DJ/Producer/Taco Bell enthusiast Dillon Francis, Grammy-nominated producer DJ Snake, What So Not and LA duo Milo & Otis.
