Toronto is a great place to be to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Even the CN Tower goes Green.

Time to go through your closets and gather all things green as we look towards celebrating St. Patricks Day. But, make sure to take it easy as there’s plenty more rocking to do in March. Join the @spdcanada gang at the Amsterdam BrewHouse on Saturday, March 15th as over 2,000 party-goers will come together to celebrate Irish culture (mainly the Guinness portion). Enjoy everything from live fiddling care of Kirk Elliott and October Browne, to performances by The High Rollers and DJ Dijon & Conor Cutz. The day begins at 11 with a complimentary pancake breakfast. Get your tickets here. Make sure you pace yourself so you can line the streets on Sunday, March 16th for the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade along Bloor and down Yonge. Broadcasted live on @CP24 and marshalled by yours truly @VIPRene. Then continue Sunday, March 16th by burning off some of those beer calories dancing the night away with pop rock band Painted On Water at The Mod Club Theater. The Chicago-based band is comprised of Demir Demirkan and Sertab Erener, the only artists from Turkey to ever win the Eurovision TV’s popular long-running Song Contest (the equivalent of American Idol or X Factor). Get your tickets here. Still have the energy of the Irish in you? Continue to rock out on Monday, March 17th at Tattoo Queen West where Irish-born, Canadian punk band The Mahones will lay tribute to their hit song “Paint The Town Red”, a well-known St. Patrick’s Day anthem, recognized worldwide. Formed on St. Patrick’s Day in 1990 and recognized as pioneers of the Irish-punk scene, The Mahones have released 12 albums to date and their live concerts never disappoint. Get your tickets here.

Then take the week to relax and get ready for the Circus at The Adelaide Hall on Saturday, March 22nd. Circus Records lead by Doctor P and Flux Pavilion, are hitting the road with their stacked arsenal of bass music vanguards. With a massive lineup, including Flux Pavilion, Doctor P, Cookie Monsta, Let’s Be Friends, Mizuki and even more surprise guests, they’re guaranteed to get the dance floor moving. Get your tickets here. Keep it together for Ages and Ages with their album dropping March 25th and their Toronto performance set for Friday, March 28th at The Horseshoe Tavern. The clash between the band’s stirring instrumental interplay/harmonies and emotionally thorny subject matter makes for a great listening experience.  Much of the record was written when Perry spent ten days on a silent meditation retreat (no speaking, writing, reading), where he had to essentially memorize his lyrics and compositions since he wasn’t able to write them down. Get your tickets here. Need a stronger beat to finish off the month? Head down to The Hoxton on Friday, March 28th where L.A duo Classixx is back in town showcasing some of their best nu-disco and west coast sounds. Responsible for some of the funkiest, toughest, and most diverse dance music, it will be an electric end to a month of celebrations. Get your tickets here. I’m tired just reading this. @VIPRene
