Looking for some shows this weekend (and beyond) while the weather is still behaving? We’ve got a few selections lined up for you.
After a whirlwind tour stateside, JUNO nom/SiriusXM Award winners Sultans of String return to home-base for a triple header of high octane shows including two shows with the Ontario Philharmonic performing the songs from their 2014 multiple award winning album, “Symphony!”, at Oshawa’s Regent Theatre on Nov 28th and Flato Markham Theatre on Nov 29th. Then they perform a collaborative concert with a whole team of heavy hitters at the Sultans & Divas show at Toronto’s Koerner Hall, Dec 4th. This special concert features performances from this country’s leading Canadian Arab artists – OktoEcho, Julie Nesrallah, Miriam Khalil, Bassam Bishara, Sultans of String and more.
The band is led by 6-string violinist Chris McKhool (Jesse Cook, Pavlo) who grew up in a Lebanese–Egyptian house bursting with music and diversity. Growing up, Chris was fed a steady diet of delicious musicality alongside Middle Eastern cuisine and violin lessons.
