It’s a true sign festival season and summer are around the corner when Electric Island kicks off. For many it’s the first journey to Toronto Islands, for others it marks a reunion with past summer friends and time to meet some new ones for the season. In it’s seventh year the party continues to go strong and evolve. Food trucks are back, the Hippie market is here and new this year will be the legalization of cannabis to add to the mix.
Electric Islanders will once again voyage across Lake Ontario to Hanlan’s Point to be met by two stages and two unique sounds including main stage headliner, industry veteran Bubfire.
Berlin masterminds ÂME [DJ Set], the burgeoning Brooklyn pair Bedouin, who have come to embody the deeper, desert-inspired music, Detroit’s ‘Women on Wax’ founder DJ Minx, and Toronto favourites Jonathan Rosa, and Carerra & Tavares round out the main stage experience.

The Moog Audio Stage will host Canadian record label Rawthentic with a special showcase, featuring a fire back-to-back set with Toronto’s very own tech-house titans and [Rawthentic] label founders Carlo Lio and Nathan Barato, ‘house gangster’ and purveyor of jackin’ beats DJ Sneak, the sultry sounds of Puerto-Rican-born, Berlin-based Caleb Calloway, and Chicago house hero DJ Deeon, who’s best known for his all-night marathon sets and hedonistic disco!
Be sure to save the dates for: Sunday, May 19th; Saturday, June 22nd; Saturday, August 10th; and a two-day festival season finale on Saturday August 31, and Sunday, September 1st.
