Picture this: the sun’s just beginning its golden descent over downtown Toronto, Fort York Garrison Common is awash in shades of blush and fuchsia, and the air is equal parts chilled rosé and bassline thump. Sequined outfits shimmer, disco balls catch the last rays of daylight, and every corner offers a new sensory hit — from crisp pours of Provence rosé to chef-prepped plates you’ll want to photograph before devouring.

On August 16, this dreamy day-into-night scene becomes reality as Rosé Disco makes its Toronto debut — a hybrid of wine festival and open-air dance floor that’s already a hit in Vancouver and Kelowna. For its first Ontario edition, organizers are going all in: 30+ premium rosés, a lineup of high-energy DJs, immersive art, and photo-worthy touches designed for that perfect golden-hour capture.

At the center of it all? Felix Cartal, the JUNO-winning DJ and producer who’s bringing his upbeat, throwback-infused house set to the city for the very first Rosé Disco Toronto.

“Day parties are highly underrated in my opinion,” Cartal says. “Doing something that’s not so late opens it up to a new audience — and that really got me excited. I always try to keep it fun and upbeat, with a few throwbacks and my own spin on them. My remix of The Zombies’ ‘Time of the Season’ almost feels like an unofficial theme song now.”

Known for collaborations spanning indie, folk, and dance — from Tegan and Sara to Lights and Rêve — Cartal has built a career on breaking boundaries. His approach to cross-genre work is as intentional as it is instinctive.

“I’m trying to work with people who inspire me, that’s the main thing,” he explains. “These people have had such incredible careers themselves that I’m honoured to create something with them. It needs to feel like our song, not just a feature. Otherwise, it’s not worth doing. Right now, I’m re-working a 1960’s Four Tops song that’s been going off at all the Rosés.”

Beyond his collaborations, travel remains Cartal’s greatest muse. From coffeehouse playlists in Berlin to late-night conversations in Tokyo, he draws creative fuel from unexpected moments.

“Stay observant to the world around you and you’ll never run out of inspiration,” he says. “Running has become my morning ritual to stay focused — and I never run with music. A clear mind before the studio works best.”

Whether you come for the wine, the music, or just the excuse to wear head-to-toe pink, Rosé Disco Toronto promises to deliver summer’s most Instagrammable party. Tickets are on sale now — but given the event’s track record of selling out west, Toronto’s first edition is set to follow suit. So, grab your shades, your best disco sparkle, and prepare to raise a glass… or three.
