As NXNE continues to fill venues over the weekend, you’ve got plenty of options for great music. Among them, free events at Yonge & Dundas Square with truly talented big name headliners. Here are some of ur picks for the weekend.

Catch Toronto’s Born Ruffians Friday at Yonge & Dundas Square. They have built up quite the career over the last 11 years. It’s been time spent on the road sharing stages with the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip, Caribou, and the who’s who of indie rock.

Also see OM at the Opera House at 10pm then catch Shark Week at Bovine Sex Club for 11pm

On Saturday head back to the square for a set with The New Pornographers as they celebrate their sixth strong album with the release of 2014’s Brill Bruisers. With a recent sold out performance at the Danforth Music Hall earlier this year, you definitely don’t want to miss this free show.

Also see Louise Burns at Lee’s Palace at 8pm, Coliseum at the Opera House at 9pm and White Cowbell at the Silver Dollar Room for 11pm

On Sunday as the week winds down Shad, the London, ON rapper is taking time out of his busy hosting schedule (for CBC’s q) to close out NXNE 2015. He headlines Sunday night’s free, all ages show at Yonge Dundas Square. It’s smart rap from a critically acclaimed, talented, and JUNO-winning lyricist who’s absolutely one of the best hip hop voices in Canada.

And while you’re out and about, Tweet and Instagram with @thesceneinto and show us you’re having a NXNE good time!
