Oh, Amazing Bass is out now and getting fist pumping reviews and his performance at Digital Dreams last Sunday brought the house.
TheSceneInTO: You’ve toured a lot and given the chance, what’s the one thing you wished someone had told you while starting out? Any life lessons from the road?
Sander: It’s not like there are many things right now that I wish that were different. I guess some more guidance in how to cope with negative feedback and such would be helpful. If there’s one negative comment but a thousand positive ones it’s still the negative that you’ll remember. As a starting DJ that can really get to you, but you’ll learn to ignore that soon enough.
TheSceneInTO: What’s the one festival you’ve always wanted to perform at? Any artist you’ve wanted to collaborate with?
Sander: When I was starting it was just the festivals in the Netherlands that I was so keen on. Having gigs at Sensation Amsterdam or Dance Valley is really awesome. I’m not sure if a collab with one of these would work out brilliantly, but I listen to rock music quite often and it would be cool to see if something could happen. Maybe feature vocals from one of the singers could work.
TheSceneInTO: Who’s on your current playlist? Anyone in particular you’re keeping your eye on?
Sander: My own new track Oh, Amazing Bass! It just released today and I’m super happy with it. I’ve also just put out my weekly radio show and I had a guest mix from Tony Junior, he released a track on DOORN Records recently and I think he is really one of the guys to keep an eye on.
TheSceneInTO: What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you while touring or performing?
Sander: I can’t tell you haha!
TheSceneInTO: What’s next on your to-do list? Any collaborations, new albums, tour dates?
Sander: No full solo albums on the agenda yet, but I will be putting out a compilation album later this year so that should be really cool. I’m working in the studio as much as I can and there are plenty of great tracks and collabs coming your way over the next few months!
