Toronto Urban Roots Fest (TURF) returns to Toronto’s Fort York Garrison Common Historical Site on September 16th-18th. The three day outdoor festival will feature 44 acts on four stages across the historic Fort York Garrison Common. Tickets range from $90 to $425 and can be grabbed via http://torontourbanrootsfest.com/
One major change this year is the stage setup. The former South Stage is unfortunately under City of Toronto Gardiner Expressway construction, and so, in what I think is actually a positive move, the festival is splitting up what was formerly programmed on the South into two new stages, the Battle Of York Stage (which is funded by the Ontario Music Fund) which features Canadian Artists and the new Rebellion Stage (located inside the fort, which is cool).
This year the festival also expands with more club shows allowing you up close and personal experience with some of the bands. More information on the club shows can be found at http://torontourbanrootsfest.com/club-series/
