It’s that time of year again, and SNAP! the annual photography auction gala for the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT) is taking place Thursday, March 6, 2014. This year the event will be located at The SNAP! Factory @ Andrew Richard Designs (571 Adelaide Street East) with Honorary Chair, Gemini award-winning television journalist and personality, Anne Mroczkowski.
SNAP! is an evening of photography featuring established and emerging artists and provides an opportunity to purchase from a curated selection of works from local, national and global artists, all for a worthy cause. The live auction collection is valued at $300 to $6,000 and the bidding for silent auction items, excluding the category and the overall winner, starts at $120.
The event is held each year in order to raise funds and awareness for (ACT), which has developed programs and services that respond to the changing needs of the communities it serves since 1983. ACT is so important because it provides support services that empower men, women and youth living with HIV to achieve informed decision-making, independence, and overall well-being. This is done through programs which include counselling, information provision, social support activities and programs that help people with HIV return to work.
ACT works with gay men, women and youth to increase their knowledge, skills and resilience in the face of HIV, and reduce HIV transmission.
All funds raised at SNAP! help support ACT’s programs and services for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Since its inception in 2002, SNAP! has raised over $2.1 million to help gay men, women and youth to increase their knowledge, skills and resilience, and reduce HIV transmission.
