Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a tasting event featuring the exquisite wines of Attems, a vineyard that beautifully marries tradition with innovation. The event showcased four remarkable wines: the Sauvignon Blanc, the Pinot Grigio, the skin-on Pinot Grigio, and the Collio.
Attems Wines, based in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy, is renowned for its commitment to expressing the unique terroir of Collio, a prestigious wine-growing area. Their approach combines respect for centuries-old traditions with a keen eye for contemporary winemaking techniques, resulting in wines of exceptional character and elegance.
The Sauvignon Blanc was a revelation, offering a vibrant bouquet of citrus and tropical fruits, underpinned by subtle mineral notes. On the palate, it was crisp and refreshing, making it an ideal match for Harriet’s seafood selections, such as the oysters.
