Toronto’s King West strip isn’t exactly known for affordable dinners — which is part of why Cibo Wine Bar’s Wednesday pasta special has quietly become one of the neighbourhood’s more reliable mid-week deals.
The Italian restaurant, part of the Liberty Entertainment Group, has long leaned into its lively wine-bar atmosphere and traditional Italian menu. But on Wednesdays, the focus shifts toward value with the Settebello Pasta Menu, where select pasta dishes are offered for $15.
It’s a straightforward concept that has kept the promotion circulating in Toronto’s food-deal roundups for years: good pasta, approachable pricing, and a setting that feels a little more polished than the typical budget night out.
Recently, I had the chance to preview the menu during a tasting at the King Street West location, sampling two of the featured pastas alongside Italian wine pairings.

The first dish, linguine with shrimp, leaned toward the lighter side — a classic seafood pasta with a delicate sauce that kept the focus on the shrimp and the fresh noodles. It’s the sort of dish that works best when paired with a glass of wine and good conversation rather than dramatic culinary flair.
The second dish, rigatoncini, brought a richer, heartier feel to the table. With its tube-shaped pasta and deeper sauce, it’s a comforting option that feels particularly suited to colder evenings — the kind of meal that hits the spot during a casual mid-week dinner.
The pastas themselves may not reinvent the genre, but that’s not really the goal here. The appeal of Cibo’s Wednesday special is its accessibility: solid Italian comfort food at a price point that’s increasingly rare in the downtown core.
The setting also helps. Cibo Wine Bar’s King West space strikes a balance between upscale and relaxed, with warm lighting, an extensive Italian wine list, and enough energy in the room to make it feel like a night out rather than just a quick dinner.
For many Toronto diners, that’s exactly what makes the promotion work. The deal turns what could be an ordinary Wednesday into an easy plan — whether it’s a casual date, catching up with friends, or simply an excuse to break up the week with a plate of pasta.
The $15 Settebello Pasta Menu is available every Wednesday at Cibo Wine Bar’s King West and Yorkville locations, featuring a rotating selection of pasta dishes.
In a city where dinner prices can climb quickly, it’s a reminder that sometimes the best mid-week plans are also the simplest: pasta, wine, and a table full of conversation.
