About Autism Ontario:
Autism Ontario is the leading source of information and referral on Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in the province, and one of the largest collective voices representing the autism community. This year marks Autism Ontario’s 40th year providing advocacy and support to individuals and families affected by ASD. Autism is a neurological condition that effects brain development in about 1% of the population, or 1 in 94 children. Children and adults show a wide range of behavioural challenges stemming from difficulty with communication, managing anxiety, dealing with change and understanding social situations. Autism Ontario works to ensure every individual with an ASD is provided the means to achieve quality of life as a respected member of society. Proceeds from this event will be used to support various programs run throughout the 26 chapters in Ontario, mostly staffed by parents and volunteers.
