Making Connections to Toronto’s Waterfront – a Historical Retrospective
February 8, 2015 - February 20, 2015
Looking for something fun to do with your loved ones this Family Day? Come be wowed
by the incredible transformation Toronto’s waterfront has undergone over the last
century by visiting Making Connections to Toronto’s Waterfront – a Historical
Retrospective, a photo exhibit curated by PortsToronto (formerly Toronto Port Authority)
and on display February 8 to 20 in Brookfield Place’s Allen Lambert Galleria.
Toronto’s South Core and waterfront are home to businesses, residences and some of
the most significant development in North America today. Just 100 years ago, however,
much of the area was swamp land before PortsToronto added more than 2,000 acres of
land to construct Toronto’s waterfront. Through photos selected from the rarely viewed
PortsToronto Archive of the Port of Toronto and Harbour, Billy Bishop Toronto City
Airport and other points along the waterfront, exhibit visitors are invited to take a journey
through time, from the early 1900’s to today.
