I am currently enjoying an Absolut Lime and Soda cocktail, a simple and delicious way to end a hectic week. Absolut is the fifth best selling premium spirit brand in the world. Created in Ahus, Sweden, this quality vodka is made from rich, winter wheat which gives it a clean and natural taste.

Recently, Absolut hosted an event partnered with Yes Yes Y’all as part of their Absolut Nights platform that began in 2017. These events are held in various cities and are a way to support progressive nightlife communities.

For many years, women, LGBTQI+ and people of colour haven’t always had the experience of safe and inclusive nightlife experiences. These issues of equality are not limited to going out on the town and in the last few years, this has been highlighted more and more. Absolut joined with different Canadian events to create safe spaces which are diverse, supply gender neutral bathrooms as well as non-aggressive security guards.

Absolut Nights supports communities by elevating the events they host to the next level and donating proceeds to charitable causes. Last year, they donated over $32,000 to Rainbow Railroad, a globally focused organization that helps people from the LGBTQI+ community find a path to safety around the world.

Next up, Absolut Nights will be joining with Dudebox this spring. Dudebox is known to throw unique events in quirky locations. The place and dates are kept under wraps until it’s closer to the event, so stay tuned for details. Then on June 15th, you can experience Absolut Nights at YES YES Y’ALL, Canada’s biggest queer basement party at NEST.

Absolut has committed to donating $1 from every cocktail they sell at an Absolut Nights event. Drinking for a cause, that’s something I can get behind.
