GEIMARUZA: Experience the living Japanese spirit

$50On Wednesday March 1st, the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre brings you Geimaruza – a world-renowned troupe of Japanese dancers – for an evening of breathtaking beauty and entertainment. Geimaruza choreographers reach back to the origins of Japanese classical dance as popular entertainment, to create dynamic performances full of energy, humour and emotion. The result is as graceful and beautiful as traditional Kabuki dance – and as thrilling and fun as a blockbuster movie. The performers are graduates in traditional dance from Tokyo University of the Arts, with a deep knowledge of authentic Japanese culture.
Accompanying them will be the Wagakki Orchestra – a group of Japanese musicians playing traditional instruments such as the shamisen (Japanese lute), koto (Japanese harp) and taiko (drum).
