Bestival Magic Returns Toronto

Bestival returns to Toronto to bring its positive vibes and magical energy, this time at Woodbine Park, June 11th & 12th.  The line-up of artists keeps building and The SceneInTo will showcase a few interviews before the festival hits. In the meantime, grab your tickets as they’re moving fast $84.50 for GA & $134.50 for VIP (plus applicable service charges). Information can be found here.

We sat down with Rob da Bank to look at why the venue change and see if we could shake any surprises out of him for this year’s festival. We also put together a photo collection from last year’s fun.

TheSceneInTO: In your opinion, what made this festival such a big success last year?

Rob da Bank: We loved how welcoming Toronto was to Bestival. The smiling faces and the incredible energy from Torontonians was utterly contagious. Everyone got the idea and loads of people donned costumes, which made the festival truly playful. The skyline of the city is extremely beautiful too, and that all made for something very special, so we’re very excited to be back again!

TheSceneInTO: Why the location change for year 2?

Rob da Bank: We had a really successful first year in Toronto, and we were extremely encouraged by all the local community support for the event. Lots more people have said they are interested in coming along and with anticipation building for this year’s show we decided now was the time to establish a new site in Toronto that would allow Bestival to expand more naturally.

TheSceneInTo: Any surprises you have up your sleeves you can share with us?

Rob da Bank: Where Bestival’s concerned, there are always surprises 😉

You can expect to see a parade onsite during the festival, along with other elements beyond the music such as our famous Inflatable Church, the Sugar Skulls Cocktail Bus, Yarn Bombing, flash mobs and lots more!
