Holding its sixth edition over the midnight sun weekend with 72 hours of non-stop sunlight this weekend Iceland’s Secret Solstice includes full day-time programing at Laugardalur, Reykjavik in addition to announcing its new off-site after-hours programming, Ragnarök. Welcoming over thirty new acts to its artist lineup new additions include UK rapper Yxng Bane, technical DJ wizard James Zabiela, Canadian rapper/producer Night Lovell, and rising hip hop newcomer Dillon Cooper.
With nearly 100 international and domestic acts announced for its sixth edition together with a once in lifetime musical experiences in Iceland’s natural beauty and new off-site programming Ragnarök, Secret Solstice is the perfect festival experience for music lovers and adventure seekers looking to explore all the Nordic country has to offer.
Among the domestic acts, Ása will take the stage as a showcase to Iceland’s rising music talent. Inspired by the likes of Norah Jones and Johnny Cash, Ása’s music will creates an uplifting feeling within you and an immediate desire to lose yourself in the rhythm and the lyrics. With an attitude of giving very few cares for other people’s restrictions and opinions, Ása is paving the way with her music, tearing apart the musical boundaries and pushing away today’s standards to create a unique blend of sounds rarely heard together.
@thesceneinto: Why/how did you get involved with this festival?
@asaelinar: I’m very honoured to be able to share my music at Secret Solstice. It’s my third time playing at the festival, and the crowd is always great! There is something magical about this time of year in Iceland when the sun never goes down. It’s a feeling I can’t describe.
@thesceneinto: What type of events do you enjoy playing the most?
@asaelinar: My favourite type of events are a very big crowds or very small intimate ones. Weddings and funerals are also very special.
@thesceneinto: If you were to describe your music to someone in five words?
@asaelinar: Different, kind, sour, real, carefree, loner.
@thesceneinto: Who’s on your current playlist? Anyone in particular you’re keeping your eye on?

Included with every festival pass, Secret Solstice’s new off-site after-hours Ragnarök programming will feature three late nights of continued dancing with top DJ talent from June 21-23. Ragnarök will take place minutes away from Laugardalur in downtown Reykjavik encouraging festival-goers to take in the capital city’s charm and nightlife scene.
