Plus, for the first time in the competition’s history, the two runners-up will each receive cash prizes of $2,500.

The 2018 SiriusXM Top Comic finalists retell their favourite 2018 “lol” moment:

Kyle Brownrigg (Hometown—Ottawa, ON)

I don’t know if anyone else will find this funny but every time I think of this, I always laugh. I was doing a show at Comedy Bar and the host was just about to introduce me but when he went to say my name, instead of saying Kyle Brownrigg, he said ‘Carl Bergstresser.’ Not only is that not my name, and not an actual person, but he said it SO confidently. I loved every second of it and after the show he kept apologizing. I wouldn’t let him apologize because Carl Bergstresser has brought such joy to my life.

– Carl out.

Sophie Buddle (Hometown—Ottawa, ON)

My cousin slept over at my place last week and we were sleeping butt to butt and then she farted into my butt and told me not to tell anyone and I didn’t

Brittany Lyseng (Hometown—Calgary, AB)

My Dad tried to record a Moose that was walking beside his truck on the highway. He hit the wrong button and just recorded the conversation after which was my Mom having a breakdown about the Moose. Just the audio was amazing. My parents are the funniest people I know

Myles Morrison (Hometown—Saskatoon, SK)

I don’t know if this is the best, or the worst, but we went on a snowboard trip this past winter to Lake Louise, AB. The whole trip was amazing and went off without a hitch, until the last day. I got arrested, as I discovered, for having an unpaid speeding ticket in Alberta from 10 years previous, and it turns out, they don’t forget about those. It was a pretty hefty fine and no shortage of scowls from my wife, but we’ve had some pretty good laughs about it since.

Alex Pavone (Hometown—Woodbridge, ON)

Did a wedding speech at one of my best friends weddings, most nervous I’ve been in a while. It went well

Nick Reynoldson (Hometown—Scarborough, ON)

I fell out of bed recently. Just lost track of my whereabouts and flipped right off. It hurt so bad and was so scary in the moment but I couldn’t stop laughing!

Chanty Marostica (Hometown—Winnipeg, MB)

The other day I was at CP24 for an interview. I went to use the bathroom, and on my walk back to the waiting room there was this beautiful woman with a headset and badge crossing my path as I walked back. She obvi worked for CP24 and was guiding some visitors around the building, I was casually checking her out because a head set!? What a powerful woman! As I walked past her I looked up at the man she was leading around the building and rubbed shoulders with him, I was almost nose in armpit to this dude and I looked up and it was TED freaking DANSON! So naturally I made a noise that was supposed to be a scream but came out more like a low pitch “BuhhhhhhWHATTTT” as a knee jerk reaction – I turned on my heel… (I go into fight or just flight mode pretty easily) and walked directly into a framed picture on a wall and then fell onto a coffee machine as I continued to mumble scream. It was so cool. I do the exact same thing anytime I meet anyone with even the slightest resemblance of celebrity status.

For instance: once I ran into a cast member from the movie Stick It at a breakfast place. I left the restaurant immediately, called my MOM, and ran home crying in the rain. It’s very dramatic and exhausting being me.

Ryan Williams (Hometown—Kamloops, BC)
