September may start to see the weather cool down, but the music scene inTO just keeps getting hotter. Check out some of these coming concerts:
This month the Horseshoe Tavern is the place to be to discover some new indie sounds and expand your music repertoire.
Japanese post-rock Behemoths MONO were in Toronto’s Horseshoe Tavern on September 12 in support of their new record For My Parents released on Temporary Residence. The live show that these guys put on always covers so many dynamics and evokes strong emotional reactions through the sophisticated arrangements and lyrical melodies weaving in and out through the whole set, part of the reason their fan base travels with them.
Nick Zammuto of The Books, is coming through town on September 20 at Molson Amphitheatre with his new band Zammuto. These guys have made one of the most unique records this year and pull off an impressive live show complete with synched videos.
Hundred Waters, the newest band on Skrillex’s OWSLA doesn’t come from an EDM background, but in fact are an avant-pop group bringing their sweet sounds to Legendary Horseshoe Tavern on September 22. They’ve received acclaim from Pitchfork among others as well.
