Transport outta this world and into the minds of local artists and designers at the 8th Annual Come Up To My Room Exhibit
The Gladstone Hotel will be hosting its annual alternative design event, the Come Up To My Room (CUTMR) Exhibition this weekend. Through dialogue and collaboration, CUTMR invites artists and designers to render what goes on inside their heads into room installations and public space projects – transforming from the surreal into tangibility. The result is a collection of varied and compelling works of art and design into a wonderland of imagination.
Artists and designers are given freedom and uninhibited creative control over their creations ensuring installations are true artistic and inventive expressions that push boundaries and challenge our conceptions of both disciplines.
The four-day exhibition will feature 11 rooms and 14 public space installations by 44 artists and designers. The event will also include design talks and curatorial tours.
For schedule and admission information visit CUTRM’s official website.
For the second year CUTMR is a part of the Toronto International Design Festival (TIDF) which debuted last year. The TIDF is a festival celebrating local and international design. Between January 27-30, a variety of venues around the city will host contemporary design events, including exhibit, symposiums, lectures, and fairs. For more information visit the TIDF’s official website.
